Yeah, it's a good idea to find a word to replace "geek" with, especially in a public (non-technical) forum.

It's bigoted, alright, but sure ain't subtle. Most people don't care about processing time, and you haven't shown them why they should. And Beth won't have the time to, either.

We should NOT be bigoted. OR subtle. We should be open about what we want to promote. Secret agendas are not open.
