This kind of issue is rampant with the wardriving crowd. Lots of
us get contacted by the press to talk about the practice, but don't
actually pay attnetion to the things that are said, and the articles more
often than not go into a sensationalist spin.
What helps, is to be ready to answer questions, in a simple
manner, with few words. Lots of us geeky-peopletend to rant on and on
about how great this stuff is, and all of our many accomplishments, but I
think this can be a little much for a reporter to write down, especially
when we get going!

Don't be pissed, thank her! Go almost overboard. Take her out for
a friendly drink, and politely explain whatever was wrong. Having a repore
with the press means that they'll be more inclined to talk to you in the
future - unless they're really embarassed!
