[wplug] Laptop Crashing

I alluded to this the last time I assaulted the keyboard, but here's the 
real deal:

My laptop suddenly started crashing upon waking up from sleep.  It started 
happening last week sometime, when I was involved in two projects:
- trying to get AFS to work (compiling from source), and
- installing X11 development libraries so that I could compile xanim (a 
quicktime player, which I couldn't get to work).

Neither project was successful, and now my laptop is narcoleptic.

I checked the installed modules and there's nothing new there.  No new
services are being started (well, afs was, but I got rid of that).  So
what's left?  RPMs, maybe.

I attached a list of the 25 most recently installed rpms.  13 of them were 
installed on Wednesday.  I was thinking of removing them one-by-one, but 
that's a very time-consuming process (remove an rpm, sleep the laptop, 
attempt to wake up the laptop and have it crash, reboot the computer, 
login again, remove another rpm, etc....) with (probably) a low likelihood 
of success.

Any suggestion?
