[wplug] ALSA Oddities

Sometime in January Robert Coutch assaulted the keyboard and produced:

| I'm not sure how X and ALSA would have anything to do with each other.

some window managers/environment things (like kde) have sound daemons that
run in the background (like artsd) that take control of sound devices. at
least that is the first thing that comes to my mind.
