[wplug] Networking Issue

Jason showed me http://standards.ieee.org/regauth/oui/index.shtml

Where he looked up the MACs and saw that 2 were Dell and 1 was 3Com to
determine it.

Using the first 6 hex characters without colons.

00-0B-DB (hex) Dell ESG PCBA Test
000BDB (base 16) Dell ESG PCBA Test
				One Dell Way
				Round Rock Texas 78682
				UNITED STATES

00-50-DA (hex) 3COM CORPORATION
0050DA (base 16) 3COM CORPORATION
				5400 BAYFRONT PLAZA
				MS: 4220
				SANTA CLARA CA 95052
				UNITED STATES

But ya the other 2 were just slightly off so I guess you could tell that
way.

I was just wondering how he determined this.
Did he guess that the two hardware addresses that were only 1 digit away
were
the two built in nics and therefore the eth0 was bound to the other nic?

That's pretty sharp cause I was just about to ask to see your modules.conf .

Thanks for any info,

Bob
