Um, what is he, your slave?  He's under no obligation to speak to anyone, 
least of all those groups he perceives as slighting his decades of work.

A fanatic is one who believes and damn the facts.

A principled person is one who refuses to compromise on important issues, 
even when it's to their personal benefit.  Stallman thinks the GNU project 
deserves credit becuase they laid the groundwork for a free OS on 
principle, not "just for fun" (see the Torvalds autobiography for the 
reference).  

You may disagree with his principles but you ought to respect them, and 
you certainly shouldn't expect someone who disagrees with you to 
legitimize your group by making a public appearance at one of your 
meetings.
