The issue RMS has with Linux has nothing to do with a license, but the
fact that so many of the core Linux utilities and software are GNU
tools. This includes most of the basic utilities such as ls, cat, more,
etc and the very compiler, gcc, that makes 99.999% of Linux into
executables.

His point is actually very valid, but he's turned it into a stumbling
block.
