I am having some weird behavior with my floppy drive and was hoping someone could help me out.
If I open a terminal and try to mount the drive I get the following:
# mount /floppy/
/dev/fd0: Input/output error
mount: block device /dev/fd0 is write-protected, mounting read-only
/dev/fd0: Input/output error
mount: you must specify the filesystem type
When I go to check the log (/var/log/syslog) I see the following:
------ SYSLOG OUTPUT BEGIN ---------------------------------------

------ SYSLOG OUTPUT END ----------------------------------------
And that output is repeated at least a dozen time in the log after just one try at mounting the floppy drive.
The drive works fine when I use it to boot from, it also works fine when I am working in Windows 98.
I have done some major "googling", but with no luck. I did find a few German sites that might have helped, but I don't read German very well.
I'm running Debian Woody with kernel 2.4.18-bf2.4 Hopefully someone will have some ideas of where I could look for the trouble, cause I'm all out.
