The Novell acquisition of Suse Linux is complete!! Novell has been very
busy in the open source space in the past 9 months. We have laid out our
strategy for the Open Source Market, and have acquired leading companies
in the Linux space like Ximian and Suse to compliment our strategy. Join
Frank Tallarico, a Novell Technical Specialist based in Pittsburgh at the
Saturday, February 7 WPLUG meeting. Frank's presentation will give an
overview Novell's Linux Strategy, highlight current Novell solutions
available on Linux and how they fit into Novell's One Net Vision, and give
an update on the recent Suse acquisition.
The schedule for the meeting will goes as follows...
10am - 11am Donuts and other goodies in Newell Simon 1507
~ 11am Pizza orders will be taken. ($5 is the suggested contribution)
11:15-12:15ish "Novell's Linux Strategy" Talk in Newell Simon 1305
12:15-1:00 Geeks eating pizza in Newell Simon 1507
1:00-1:30 Hot topic du jour.
1:00-2:00 General socialization.
2:00 Meeting is called to conclusion.
Please try to arrive by 11am since the talk is in 1305. Just in case,
Brian Sammon will be in 1507 to usher latecomers to 1305.
