I just switched from them (was a Verio customer that
got marooned w/out service and had to get re-connected
fast).

Their service used to be incredibly unreliable. They
seemed unable to keep 2 DNS servers running (packets
would just dissappear inside their network).

Lately, I had had very few problems which seemed
mostly to be caused by my flaky modem and WiFi router.
And their main tech support guy, Joe, is pretty
responsive and competent.

The terms of their contract were pretty horrendous,
too; can't cancel before 2 years w/ out penalty, even
after that requires 30 days written notice, and if you
don't return the modem to them they charge you $250
for it. (By contrast, I have two old DSL modems from
previous providers lying around and was never asked to
return them).

But I'd heard so much good stuff about Speakeasy that
I switched to them. Gets installed at my new house on
Wednesday, we'll see how that goes.

Good luck, sorry to any SC employees who may be on the
list, but those are my honest impressions.

Dave
