Sorry I missed the first 3/4's of this conversation but . . .

Is that the older style nick with the 8 pin PHY connector on it?  The PCB
is also kind of half triangle shaped?

If so I have a few of those same cards, and they seem to be really picky
about the patch cable your using regardless of OS..

They like to auto-neg to 10mb, and if you force a 100mb they show not
connected..
