Okay.. so I've tried grepping for all the glib files involved, and had
no real success. I also can't find any configure options that involve
glib, which is frustrating. It's not critical software, really, but
it's irritating to have something I can't get to work and have no idea
why.
I'll post the error message and consider that the end of it.. if anyone
has any bright flashes, you can reply privately.. I appreciate the
effort.. I think I need to spend some more time figuring out the whole
compilation gig anyway.
checking for GTK+ - version >= 2.0.0... no
*** Could not run GTK+ test program, checking why...
*** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log
for the
*** exact error that occured. This usually means GTK+ is incorrectly
installed.
configure: error:
*** GTK+ 2.0 is required to build Gaim; please make sure you have the
GTK+
*** development headers installed. The latest version of GTK+ is
*** always available at http://www.gtk.org/.
Thanks again, everyone. If anyone has any questions concerning how to
install incorrectly, scatter essential files all over the system, poorly
configure an entire distro install or pick hardware that invariably is
not supported by Linux, I'm your guy.
