[wplug] SCSI drives..

usually not. Most distro supplied kernels have everything and a kitchen sink
compiled as modules.
Given that the knoppix kernel found an appropriate module, and all
indications are that the hardware is good, my first instinct would be to
tell you to compile a newer kernel if possible. What kernel is this btw?
Nate

Nope.. This actually brings up a question of mine. If the system was
installed in a box with no scsi controller or drives do you need do
anything to add them?

I remember reading waaay back something about recompiling the kernel to
add SCSI emulation for cd burners or something of the sort.
