what version of samba client do you have? I have samba-client-2.2.7a-8.9.0 and their is not "-W" option the workgroup option(as I am reading it) specifys the workgroup your local host is in when connecting to the server. Specifying this option has no effect on the perm issue.

Try -W domain.  I've used that for the local domain here at work, and
was authorized.
