"Hackers", artists, phreaks, musicians and other techno-geeks will descend
upon Cleveland in from April 23rd to April 25th for Notacon, an event that
attempts to shatter all preconceived notions about what a "con" usually
consists of. Besides talks, there will also be live music and DJs, world
renowned digital artists as well as other standard fare such as a massive
conference network, weird contests and games as well as the ability to
hang out and chill with other attendees. The goal of Notacon is to
"bridge the gap between art and technology" and from the looks of it,
we're well on our way! Pre-registration ends soon, but badges can be had
at the door the day of the event.

Notacon will include great speakers in three tracks like digital artist
Laurence Gartel, HTML/CSS geek Eric Meyer, and Slashdot's own Timothy
Lord. Other notable people and creative hacker types are scheduled to
present during the day sessions.

In addition to the 24/7 standard hacker con setup: Network Room, Hacker
Trivia, Movies, etc...Notacon boasts an impressive music lineup featuring
Twine (Baltimore), Doc (Detroit) and groups from Boston's OS Collective.
The event will also feature really weird contests like "Anything but
Ethernet", a stage production vaguely reminiscent of what cDc tried to
pull of at H2K, and your chance to take it from the shower to the stage in
a "Talentless Talent Show."

Pre-registration has been extended to April 9th, but admission can be had
at the door for $60. For more information, please see:
