A small rant here. You're implicitly drawing conclusions about the OS, 
based on one application. That's like saying "Linux is worse than 
Windows XP, because Adobe Photoshop only runs on XP". As you say, "SAP 
only supports a specific kernel", obviously because they don't want to 
release their proprietary patches to the community. That's fine, 
they'll try to lock in their customers as much as possible. But this is 
not a shortcoming of Linux, it's a vendor-imposed constraint for an 
application they control.
