We're running Redhat 8.x in our office environment with Gnome and the Ximian Desktop..

All of our workstations have one login for all users to use. I've been put up to the task of finding a way to prevent users from doing too much customizing of their desktop's, etc..

So far the only thing I was able to think of is disabling write privs (chmod 555?) on their desktop folder from root.. That would keep them from adding icons, but nothing else.. I want to prevent things like adding extra junk to the toolbars, wallpapers, etc..

Any ideas would be much welcomed..

Thanks
Mike
