[wplug] Most common business distro?

Hello all,

I am a recently laid off electrical engineer
who wants to build Linux experience.  Can 
someone tell me what is the most common distro
that is used in business today?  I expect its
Redhat, but not sure.  Also where is the best
source to get a cheap copy without paying big
bucks at CompUSA or downloading it through my
painfully slow dial-up ISP.  

Also I am interested if anyone is using any
real-time distros for embedded applications.
