Sometime in October Chris assaulted the keyboard and produced:

that was just an example. i suppose i should be even more specific :). i
want a tool that given a url and some pattern describing the content of
interest, will return weather or not that content has changed. slashdot is
nice because it has the rss feed, but not all sites do.
