okkie, i think i got all steps. still not cleverer, though ;)

The logs in /var/log/messages say:

Nov 9 23:04:08 JODEL kernel: application bug: privoxy(22274) has
SIGCHLD set to SIG_IGN but calls wait().
Nov 9 23:04:08 JODEL kernel: (see the NOTES section of 'man 2 wait').
Workaround activated.
Nov 9 23:04:08 JODEL privoxy: privoxy startup failed

I am not running dhcpcp or pump:

[root at JODEL root]# ps aux | grep dhcpcp
root 3789 0.0 0.1 3576 644 pts/1 S 15:13 0:00 grep
dhcpcp
[root at JODEL root]# ps aux | grep pump
root 3791 0.0 0.1 3572 640 pts/1 S 15:13 0:00 grep pump

I also checked what services are running, i don't see anything that
looks unnecessary:

[root at JODEL root]# chkconfig --list | grep 5:on
