[wplug] catching and killing runaway processes

Hello All,

I am looking for a program that will monitor CPU and Memory usage on Linux
box and when a defined threshold is reached, kill the offending process. 
Last night my server was pegged at 100% and I could not login to kill
whatever had run amok.  I would like a way to prevent this in the future. 
I am running RH 8 on a P III 1GHz.  Thanks for the help.
