[wplug] something wrong with modules on Gentoo system

Others have had a similar problem, but it resolves fairly easily:

If that's not exactly the problem, there are some other promising hits
when I searched for kernel+source+modules+unresolved+symbol on the
forums. It seems ALSA came up quite a lot, so that might have soemthing
to do with it.
