| did you check dmesg ?
| i know its a little differnet but some times on an install 
| my cdrom mounts to /dev/cdrom that doesnt work for me. so 
| i redo the fstab and change it to /dev/hdc 
|

it's a good thought. i checked and it's there. fdisk can see it also.
