Linux can read more disk formats than any other OS out there (as far as 
I know).

Just make sure you mounted the floppy before trying to use it. and it's 
formatted with some file system (not completely blank).

The more up to date Linux OS's will automount when you click on the 
drive icon.

What happened when you tried? Did you get an error message?
