Hi all,
Thanks so much for the help at the installfest. Esp Brian for finding and
installing apache for me, James for showing me the begining of how to use
it, Paul for the fan and Steve for the pocket screwdriver set(!!!) and
encouragement.
James you won't believe this, but some of what you taught me stuck. I'm
amazed!
On to the next question. I can't believe I forgot to get help on this at the
installfest, but anyway...
Now that I've got Apache, I want my perl. (Brian are you out there?) I
imagine it's on one of my disks - If you could talk me through what you did
with apache and if this is something similar, that would be so extremely
good.
Mike, please don't get miffed about this. I really did try to choose every
option I could see when I did the install. I'm very very new to this,
though, and wasn't real sure of what I was doing at *any* stage of the
install. So apparently I didn't do what you suggested, but it wasn't out of
lack of appreciation for the suggestion and its contents. Since I then
needed more help, I went to the installfest and was told there was no need
to do a complete reinstall but that the program I wanted could easily be
added. These guys were really helpful, so I'm going this route. I certainly
see the benefits of getting everything all at once, which was my initial
preference, but I'm seeing advantages of this too - it may give me an op to
learn my way around a bit more, etc.
Thanks again,
Amy
sometime in May, Mike assaulted the keyboard and produced:
(sorry! I just *had* to cop that one!)
