Sometime in May Rick Smith assaulted the keyboard and produced:

| Was it flaky hardware or ?
| Was it driver problems? In the words of Donald Becker:

honestly i don't know if it was hardware or software. after moderate
network use, the computer would just seize requiring me to hit the reset
switch. i swapped the realtek out for either an eepro or 3com and had no
problems. also, i had problems a long time ago with another realtek. the
whole expirence left me with a bad taste in my mouth. you should really
get feedback from others though-statistics with n=1 are not very reliable.
if it's in a laptop, you should probably be able to get more info about
that system on www.linux-laptop.net.

"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of
the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to
drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship,
or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the
people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is
easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and
denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country
  to greater danger."
