[wplug] Change resolution

I'm having a small problem changing the resolution on my RH9 machine.
It's an IBM thinkpad currently running at 800x600 with millions of
colors. I'd like to change it to 1024x768 but that setting doesn't seem
to stick. When logged in as root I change the settings and a message
comes up saying that the new config has been written to
/etc/X11/XF86Config and to please restart X. I log out and log back in
but the settings are still at 800x600. I started thinking that maybe the
video card couldn't handle the resolution so I changed the colors to
thousands but still no change. Under advanced settings the card is an
Intel 830 with 16MB Ram and the i810 driver, the monitor is unprobed.
I also noticed that my XF86Config under section "screen" has a
subsection "Display" with depths of 16 and 24. Under both depths the
modes are "800x600" and "640x480". Are the modes listed here the only
ones I can change my display to? I've tried adding "1024x768" but that
didn't work either.

Thanks.
