[wplug] upgrading sendmail on Slackware

Hi All -
	I need to update a slack based system for the recently announced
sendmail vulnerability.  It's been so long since I worked on a slack box
that I'm wary of proceeding before asking - if I simply install with
"pkgtool" will it NOT trash my current config?  
	Also - is it enough to simply back up /etc/mail, or do I need to
consider other files (like init stuff) as well??
