Ahhhh, only the truely paranoid can think this way.
Welcome to the club !

I don't know if it's spyware itself but then again,
I don't use a windows computer except at work because I have to.

You can never really be 100% safe if others are very determined to
collect information about you.

I've caught a couple of linux programs transmitting data back to
their creators  after installation.

I keep wmnet running on my WindowMaker desktop and when it starts showing a
lot of activity
when there should be none, I fire up ethereal.

I've caught Opera and QT-Desktop calling home.

Since we're on the subject, anyone else ever notice this sort of stuff?

How can you be sure SpyBot is not spyware??  Is the code open??
