[wplug] updated groff and now man pages are corrupted...

(I am running Slackware 7.1)
I upgraded to groff 1.18.1 and now some pages (not
all) appear like

How can I correct that? (I would not like to go back
to 1.17 ; there seem to be some nice goodies in
groff1.18).
