[wplug] cp command question

Sometime in June Bob Schmertz assaulted the keyboard and produced:

| >(cd /source/directory && tar cf - . ) | (cd /dest/directory && tar xvfp -)

i know this is a linux list, but i think the 'tar ..' command is more
portable across different systems.

| doing 'cp -R . /dest/directory' (starting from the source directory, and
| adding other flags such as -p as appropriate) also seems to work.
