Gentgeen incurred the wrath of Bob on Jun 2, by saying

>Maybe I'm missing something here, but what about one of the VNCs. I
>have a Win98, Win95, and Redhat 7.2 machines in my house, and I use VNC
>to control any of the boxes from another.

VNC is pretty viable, too. It has the added benefit that you can just
close your window, shut down your PC, come back the next day, and
restart your VNC session where you left off.

But AFAICT it doesn't do cut-and-paste with Windows. And it doesn't
receive certain keyboard events. For instance, since I like to use
Exceed (and, as of today, XFree) in X-in-a-box mode, I like to map Alt-`
to next-window in the window manager in my X session. Well, VNC doesn't
listen to that keyboard command. I really can't live without my
keyboard-driven task switching; I hate the rodent. So I avoid using
VNC, unless I'm planning to have one of those things where its
persistence would come in useful.
