I used StarOffice v5.2 at my last job, without any problems.  Writing and
opening Word documents went flawlessly, most people didn't even know I
wasn't running Office (because they never saw my desktop).  No problems
with Powerpoint presentations, either, save displaying images went more
slowly than normal.
