I have my smtp server setup to send mail through my isp's server.  I use
postfix, so I'm not sure exactly how to do it w/ sendmail.  I think the
configuration option is smart host or somesuch.

However, originally, I did send mail straight from the Linux box.  There
were several email addresses that I was unable to send mail to because I
was on a blacklist.  The most common blacklist is that the ISP's IPs that
are configured to be dynamic are automatically entered in several
blacklists.  Another problem would be if your IP switched and you got
someone's IP that had been blacklisted because they were jerks or
something...
