[wplug] Linux is going to DJ my wedding

Don't laugh but I did this once.

I'm a keyboard ( the C# D E F kind, not the QWERTY kind) player
and basically carry around a stereo PA system as part of my rig.

I used a rack box with mixer/eq (Rolls) and power amp (QSC) connected to my
Linux PC ( Athlon 1.4 GHz running SuSE 7.3)
and a Sony Playstation 2 (DVD anc CD player).
Two Peavey DJ-1115 cabinets also.

XMMS played the MP3 files and wmcdplay took care of the audio CD's on the PC.
The playstation audio went to the mixer and the video to the S-Video in jack
on the PC's TV card.

I also had an RCA DVD/CD player on hand run to the mixer.

I don't have a lot of CD's so I borrowed a bunch and bought a couple of those
party mix CD's. 99% of all requests came off those CD's. I got lucky.

I borrowed some stage lights from the band and got a cheap strobe light from
Radio Shack. I had a fog machine in the basement from halloween too.

Linux didn't let me down as it performed flawlessly ( which is more that I can
say about my keyboard playing ), the crowd was young ( elementary school
crowd) and was easily impressed by the fog machine and the "What a goom"
plug-in for XMMS.

I say go for it and borrow one of those VGA presentation projectors
for displaying some of XMMS' plug-ins.
