hahaha...wow...I've had the exact opposite...

Gaim has never crashed on me, tho it does occasionally signoff
unexpectedly (This may or may not be the result of network or server
problems, I've never felt like checking).  

My buddy uses Trillian and since he upgraded a couple months back, he
has had nothing but problems. 

One issue i have noticed is that Gaim doesnt always verify the version
of my buddies' clients correctly.  Thats to say, it may report that a
buddy has file sharing capabilities when they dont, or vice versa.
