I've used Dell Perc, IBM ServRaid, Adaptec, compaq smart array, all with
very good results.  If you want my personal opinion, I would go with an
IBM servRaid.  Polly lx if you are looking for single channel.  The
initial config util is a linux bootable cd rom.  Quite nice.
