Rarely will the support people claim to support linux.  In fact, I can't
think of a vendor other than IBM that even has any laptops they claim
work with linux.  Dell used to, but last I looked, they're all gone. 
Typically, the laptops IBM supports is not the ones you find on their
sales pages, you have to dig in deeper and find it.
