[wplug] CDRW problems

Ok, I have a Backback USB CDRW running on Mandrake 9.1.

Now with 8.2 this happened all the time, and this is the first time in a
long time that this has happened in 9.1.

Sometimes, the system just won't recognize that the CDRW is there. The
SG module doesn't pick it up to create sg0, nor does it mount to
/mnt/cdrom2 (I also have a CDROM which mounts to /mnt/cdrom) like it
usually does.

The f*cked up part is, that if I boot into Windows, use Adaptec's CD
writing software, it'll work just fine, and then when I boot back into
Linux, it'll work again.

Now, there's got to be something that Adaptec's software or MS Windows
is doing with my CDRW that I just don't know about but could do in Linux.

Any theories as to what it could be?

In case anyone wants to know, here's the output from dmesg:
