The -p and -s options might be mutually exclusive.  The man page
would lead one to believe otherwise, but they're not always right.
I don't have rdate installed here to test it out, but I have used
the -s option successfully in the past.

As others have mentioned, rdate seems to be going out of fashion
in favor of ntp.
