Well if you're using Mandrake, go easy on yourself.

Go into the Mandrake Control Center (command line: mcc). Selct
Hardware, then printers and simply "Add New Printer".

To be honest, I'm using Mandrake 9.1, but with 8.2 as well, Mandrake
simply saw my Epson printer (two different ones actually) and set them
up for me.

At the command line, when I type in lpq, I get:

[sugapablo at dell music]$ lpq
EPSONStylusCOLOR880 is ready
no entries

What do you get?
