[wplug] LaTeX, latex2html, perl

Hi all-
I am trying to manually install the latex2html package. I am running
Mac OS X, and Fink is not really an option because I have gcc3.3 and
Fink chokes on it. I have downloaded the g'zipped tarball of
latex2html, I have perl, and I already RTFM'd.
When I ./configure, it modifies "Makefile", but I cannot run "make".
The specific error I get is:

make: command not found

So, I tried "./make", but then realized that there was no "./make" to
be found at all! The output of ./configure lives in a file called
"./cfgcache.pm" which is not very informative. Here are the last couple
lines of output from the configure (which looks like everything is fine
to me).

checking for temporary disk space... /tmp
creating cfgcache.pm
Note: Will install...
       ... executables to : /usr/local/bin
       ... shared library items to : /usr/local/share/lib/latex2html
       ... unshared library items to : /usr/local/lib/latex2html
updating cache ./config.cache
creating ./config.status
creating Makefile
If everything went well, you may run 'make'

Does anyone have any experience installing latex2html from a tarball,
or can anyone suggest why I have no make file? Seems like it's choking
in the configure, but don't see anything that looks bad. Any other
ideas?

Thanks,
Doug
