I like the Dell Inspiron series and the Toshiba Satellite series. I've 
had good luck with both models, and they both run Linux fine. The only 
thing that I don't like about the Toshiba Satellite I have right now is 
the maximum screen resolution is 1024x768. I had gotten used to using 
1400x1050 on my Dell Inspiron 8200.
