I tried to 'apt-get install' apache, vim and ssh.

This is what I have of the output from 'apt-get
update':

ignored, or old ones used instead.

Before doing 'apt-get update' I had uncommented the
following lines in /etc/apt/sources.list (based on
info in O'Reilly's "Learning Debian GNU/Linux":

deb http://www.us.debian.org/debian stable main
contrib non-free
deb http://non-us.debian.org/debian-non-US stable
non-US

Any clues?

E.
