I use win4lin and I think its friggin amazing!!  I couldnt get Visio to
build in wine so I got win4lin just for the purpose of running Visio at
work.  I run an old copy of win98 SE and it has never crashed, and it
takes all of a few seconds to boot.  

I havent used VMWare since the mid to late 90's, so I cant really
comment on how good there product is these days.  It was pretty crappy
back then, but it was of course an infant at the time.  I've heard its
pretty good these days.

I've tooled around with Wine a bit, but not enough to develop an opinion
of my own.  I've talked to a number of geeks, however that swear by it. 
They mostly use it to port games over...
