[wplug] Apache modules

I set up Apache with php and postgres support on a redhat server, but I 
can't seem to get the mod_dir.so module to work.

I've tried installing it by adding things at the end of the ./configure 
line using --enable-module, but perhaps I'm typing the wrong things.

I did locate mod_dir.so on the machine, but when I point to it in 
httpd.conf, using "LoadModule dir_module /path/mod_dir.so" apache will 
not start.

I also notice that when I reconfigure apache, it won't overwrite old 
files (at least it seems to be the case) and I have no idea how to erase 
  apache in order to start fresh.

Any suggestions?
