[wplug] nis on redhat 7.3

ok this seems really silly. 

i just got a stack of new computers in. i configure the domainname and
ypbind starts right up. i can use ypcat and verify the maps are correct.
but the computer doesn't seem to be "using" the info from nis. so when i
try to su to a user it says that the user doesn't exsist. autofs isnt
picking up on any of the file systems that are being exported via the nis
server. obviously i'm  forgetting something here.
