As much as I hate to admit it, my laptop started exhibiting this 
behavior last month (suddenly it started losing ~1 hr each day), the 
only remedy being frantical syncronization with a time server (every 
one hour).

The part I don't like about it, is that after the latest re-installation 
from scratch, the clock works fine! Very window$-ish behavior... :-(

PS: Or it could just be that the laptop was demanding Slackware to be 
happy :-P
