Without digging out all of my SCSI hardware documentation, I might 
suggest that you check the PARITY configuration of your controller and 
the drive in question.  There is a jumper on the back of the drive that 
selects the PARITY level and and a jumper that selects whether PARITY is 
used or not.  If this was pulled from other equipment, it might be an issue.
