Sometime in June Ben Beige assaulted keyboard and produced...

|Isn't there an ASP to PHP converstion program out there?

yep: http://asp2php.naken.cc/

since i've never used tools like these (f2c, asp2php, and the like) i don't
know how reliable they are. i doubt a businees would want to be dependant
on writing code in asp and then converting it to php. if the person who is
writing the code isn't willing to consider a different programming language
(php, perl, pythong, etc), then i think he would be safer either sticking
with what he's currently using or sun's chilisoft (Sun ONE)
implementation.

if the webperson is willing to switch, then a converter like the one above
would be good for migration.

on a humorous note the chilisoft people have instructions on removing iis,
which they refer to as ..." IIS Exorcism".

the original poster might want to pose the problem to the webperson in a
financial framework:

if you want to use asp you have two options:
o run it on windows which is unstable, expensive, and moving to a nice
and happy subscription framework. include any license costs associated
with running iis. i havent used it since the beta and have no idea if
there are any costs. also don't forget to mention that quite a few
worms have been released for iis-this can lead to downtime.

o pay the folks at Sun ONE at least $495 for every computer it's
    installed on.

or you could use one of the many free programming/scripting languages which
work on almost any *nix and windows. to me being tied to an os like this
would be frightening, but i'm an individual. i guess a lot of companies
don't mind forking out the cash, especially if it's not much considering
their total expendatures.
